Pool Maintenance

When pool season comes to a close, “winter watch” begins…

Winter Watch is a status check-in as needed to ensure your pool cover is secure and water chemistry is balanced. See below for what we include in our pool winter watch visit:

Pool Cover Inspection

  • Inspect for tears or holes and confirm fasteners/weights are secure.  Removal of any debris, such as leaves or branches, as well as standing water, snow, or ice on top of your cover.
  • A pool pump is utilized to remove the excess water weighing down a solid cover.

Water Chemistry Testing

  • Monitor water levels.  Falling water levels might indicate a leak in the pool, while rising water levels may require draining water from the pool to prevent possible damage to tile and coping.
  • Test water chemistry and observe color to determine if additional chemicals are needed.   If added, the water is then circulated by a submersible pump to avoid chemical concentration in only one area of the pool.
